Our Speaker: Rev. Dr. Mike Harbert

Mike Harbert grew up in Carmel Valley, CA. After being raised in the Carmel Presbyterian Church and coming to a very personal and significant faith through Young Life during high school, Mike responded to God’s call by studying and traveling for a year in Israel while in college and attending Fuller Theological Seminary. Along the way Mike also enjoyed being in a small group with Jim Sillerud while Jim was the Associate Pastor of Los Gatos. After graduation from Fuller and ordination into the PCUSA, Mike served churches in Connecticut, Texas and northern California. Mike and his wife, Laura, moved to Pasadena 9 years ago when Laura received a call to serve at Fuller Theological Seminary. Mike now serves the San Fernando Presbytery as the Associate for Congregational Care and Discernment, helping churches discern God’s best during the very sensitive, significant and sacred times of transition and new beginnings. Mike enjoys exploring the mountains on his bikes and especially on long hikes. Mike and Laura have 5 grown children and 2 grandkids
