Family Fifth Sunday

We’re celebrating our first Family Fifth Sunday of 2026 on May 31st.  Because Pentecost Sunday is during Memorial Day weekend – and many of our leaders will be out of town – we’ve decided to POSTPONE our PENTECOST POTLUCK until May 31st.  Let me repeat myself, there will be no potluck on May 24th; instead, we’ll have a potluck on Family Fifth Sunday, May 31st.  And remember: on Family Fifth Sundays, we skip the sermon and let the message of the day be in song.  And what will be our theme this year? 

 

I was listening to K-Love Christian radio station the other day and they were sharing their list of Top 10 Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) songs of all time.  The #1 choice was “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe. That got me thinking. “I Can Only Imagine” is a common choice for memorial services. Memorial Day will have happened during the previous week.

 

So, here’s the ask: What hymn and/or praise song would you most want to be sung at your memorial service?   Let someone on staff know or call the church office or write it down and deposit it in one of the   offering boxes in the sanctuary or narthex.  Please only one hymn and/or praise song.  Sometimes people give us a list of ten and we randomly choose one and then they’re sad because we didn’t sing their favorite.  Be sure to let us know your favorites.
