SUMMER
MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES
The choir takes a well-deserved break each summer, yet there is still
music to be presented! Keep your eyes on the Sunday bulletin for the summer
schedule, and be ready to PLUG IN where you can.
DRAMA
OPPORTUNITIES
Drama is a wonderful way to “make a point” that fits with
the sermon topic. The worship planning team is working toward adding drama
to our worship every once in a while. We’d like to have a list of
people who are interested in drama. Will you join us? We need people of
ALL ages, children included. Let Chris Sillerud know via email at chris@fpcgh.org
if you are interested.
To RSVP for the above events,
or for more information about other Music Ministry Opportunities, please
call Chris Sillerud in the church office at 360-1831 ext. 106.
Give
the Gift of Music
This program was started ten years ago as a way to honor or memorialize
a loved one or an occasion. Over 70 anthems have been purchased with donations
to this fund. The Cathedral Choir thanks those who have donated. Give
the Gift of Music is ongoing; for information call Chris Sillerud at 360-1831.
The
Sanctuary Piano Fund
Yes, we are still receiving donations toward a new piano in the sanctuary.
We have almost $9,000. A beautiful new piano costs about twice this amount.
If this is an area you’d like to donate to, contact Chris Sillerud
or Sheila Koster in the church office at 360-1831.

JOIN US!
Anytime is the right time to join the Cathedral Choir! We are a friendly
bunch of people who love the Lord and love to sing. Not all of us read
music, so rehearsing is necessary. Our rehearsals are Thursday evening,
7:15-9:00 p.m. We’d love to have YOU! Call Chris at 360-1831 for
more information.
At First Presbyterian,
music is an integral part of our worship. We believe in presenting varied
styles of music to the congregation. All music groups are open to new
musicians. Come join us! All music is intended to deepen our experience
with God and help us all worship God in spirit and truth.
During the 9:00
Worship Service, the you may hear a Zulu melody for an introit,
a Mendelssohn chorale for an anthem, and a handbell piece for an offertory.
We strive for a "blended" worship service that incorporates
not only the beloved hymns, but the newer praise choruses.
During the 11th
Hour Contemporary Service, you'll hear worship
led by our rockin' 11th Hour Band. You might also hear guest performances
by our barber shop quartet or 11th Hour Gospel Choir.
