Dear Friends,

 

Hello from Nicaragua, the land of lakes and volcanoes!  I pray that this finds you well.  Remember - no matter what your circumstances, God is BIGGER, and He is inviting you to come and trust Him and know Him better.  He is good and always wants the best for us!

 

God has been doing a lot of special things in my life lately, and I am thankful for your prayers, friendship, and partnership in this journey. 

 

 

--> Outreach to Rosita.

 

Thanks so much for supporting me and my team in prayer during this our 5 day Bible seminar.  We were in this northern Nicaraguan town from July 15 to 21.  We got to collaborate with Francisco and Marisol Juarez, dear friends of mine who did their DTS with me.  They are currently helping with teaching and discipleship in a Mennonite church, and we did this Bible seminar with this church and also had a couple of pastors and members from other churches come visit.

 

It was a time to plant many seeds containing key truths from God´s Word.  Our prayer is that the men, women, youth and children who were present at the seminar, and the other people that we came in contact with, would be diligent to seek God for themselves and put into practice the truth that He´s given them.

Yes, Rest and Relaxation!  Following outreach, we had one week of vacation.  God has been emphasizing to me again and again how I really need to let go and learn to rest in Him (Ps. 46:10), and several friends chimed in and reminded me to TRULY REST during this week.  Thankfully, I got the message.  I fully enjoyed spending time with a YWAM family off the base, catching up on sleep, going for walks and going running, going to a beach town for a couple days, and spending the last couple days at a Bed and Breakfast, for a personal retreat time with the Lord.  I even managed to read a fiction book for fun (which my mom can testify is a true rarity for me).

 

Now, I´m back here at the YWAM base, back into the swing of classes and eager to grow in my relationship with Christ and be better equipped in His Word.  We´re studying Acts and Romans right now, and in a few weeks we have a special project due (I´ll be doing an exposition of a portion of the book of Hebrews :-)

 

We are also praying fervently about our final phase of outreach, which will be from October 13 to November 17.  Please pray with us for God´s guidance as we seek to put together our outreach teams.  Above all, we want to hear from Him, trust and obey Him, and work together as a unified group in this process.
