Reconstruction Work in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi
All of the financial support that our church receives comes from those who worship at First Pres. This support is essential for our church. Without such support our church would not be able to pay for critical things such as staff salaries, property taxes, utility bills, maintenance of our church property, and the support of mission efforts in Southern California and around the world.
God's direction is clear. He wants us to honor Him with a specific portion of our material wealth. That portion is a tithe or ten percent of our income. "A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD" (Lev 27:30).

Good Stewardship Does Matter
Willing Weekday Workers at Work
Our dedicated members provide the funds needed to keep our church alive and vibrant. All of the expenses of our church are paid for solely through the tithes and offerings we receive every week. The church's annual budget is based on our members' pledged commitments of financial support to their church. The Bible clearly states that everything we have comes from our Lord and that God wants us to support the Lord's work by being good stewards of our time, our talent and financial resources.
Online Giving
Thank you for helping First Pres. fulfill its mission and vision. Through your tithes and offerings, we are able to support the work of Christ in the San Fernando Valley, greater Los Angeles, and around the world.
Financial stewardship is based on the spiritual principles of the Old Testament and the teachings of Jesus. As we give thanks for our blessings and have hope for all that is to come in the future, we offer the Lord our best. We offer Him our time, our talents, and our treasure.
The 80/20 Endowment Fund
The 80/20 Endowment Fund is a special endowment fund that was established by the Session to ensure further financial stability for the expanding work of Christ in and through our church.
The 80/20 Endowment Fund is a perpetual fund that is conservatively invested. 80% of the fund's annual earnings are used for the current ministry and mission of the church, and the remaining 20% is reinvested in the Fund so it continues to grow. Resources for the fund are from donations, charitable gifts, will bequests, and other planned gifts.
If you are interested in learning more about the Endowment Fund please contact Sheila Koster, Controller, in the church office (818) 360-1831 or Bill Johnson, Chairman of the Endowment Committee.

Estate Planning
Estate planning is the process of managing accumulated assets for the present and the future.
It is a way to protect, preserve and distribute your assets during your lifetime and upon your death. Estate planning may even reduce the tax consequences on current assets and future estate taxes. The Endowment Committee would like you to consider the Endowment Fund as part of your estate planning. For more information on Estate Planning, contact Sheila Koster, Controller, in the church office at (818) 360-1831.
