Ministry For Seniors (MFS) Luncheon
February 11, 2010
The Ministry for Seniors Luncheon will begin at 12:00 noon in Lee Hall.
As one of the Daily News readers’ most familiar and long-time favorite writers, Dennis McCarthy has been sharing stories about people and their lives for over three decades. His thought provoking and inspirational columns have won numerous awards from the industry’s top trade organizations, including two honors from the California Newspaper Publishers Association for best local columnist.
The thing that is so unique and special about McCarthy’s column is that he writes about average working people who do something very unaverage to make our community a better and safer place. As he explains, “I spent the first 10 years of my career basically covering police and court beats, writing about violence and all the losers in our society. When the opportunity to write a column came along, I dumped the losers and went looking for the winners because they deserve more of our recognition and gratitude.”
Look for Dennis McCarthy’s award winning commentary exclusively in the Daily News four days a week, every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. See for yourself why he is everybody’s hometown favorite. Don’t miss this dynamic program!
Tickets for the luncheon are $10 and must be purchased in advance. Extra seating will be available for those attending the program only. Luncheon menu: beef stroganoff, egg noodles, chicken stroganoff, green beans, garden salad, rolls, lemon meringue pie, coffee and tea.
